Conservation

We are fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the country, Cornwall; and have a wide variety of wildlife on Cornhill Farm. We don't have any footpaths through the farm so the animals and birds only see us farming the land and are minimally disturbed. We are members of FWAG (Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group), and LEAF (Linking the Environment And Farming). We have preserved specific areas on the farm for wildlife, as well as creating other parts through excavating a pond, planting a double row of trees 300 metres long to make a new wildlife corridor and placing our set-aside fields on the farm in strategic places that enhanced these wildlife corridors. In 2008 when the 8% setaside rule was lifted, we still kept 6 acres of land as setaside to maintain our wildlife corridors.
