Building
Since 1980 the farm has undertaken several major building improvements, all of them were designed and built on the farm using our own family staff. The first shed was a portal timber frame building to house our new bullbeef enterprise, and has a floor space of over 1000 sq m. In 2002 a 500 sq m shed was built as a store and workshop, and in 1984 a 280 sqm shed as a calf rearing house. All these were timber framed construction. Although purpose built, they were designed to be adaptable to other uses, which has been a necessity as farming has changed over the years.
In 2007 the old and tired 'dutch barn' was demolished, and we completed the build of our fourth farm shed, this time in steel. We purchased all the raw steel work, and cut and welded everything in our own workshop before sending it away to be galvanised. Some pictures of it under construction are below.
